We've taken Ron Paul from nowhere in the polls to 8%. We can get him up above McCain and Giuliani for sure, but it's going to take a lot of work on our part. Come join this effort to help Dr Paul win NH. Our founding fathers risked their lives and fortunes for freedom. All we need to do is knock on doors.

We're going to make a big push to canvas on Dec 1st. We will be getting folks in from around the country to help out, and throw a big rally in the evening, hopefully with Ron Paul there to say thank you.

About 11 minutes into the press release for the $4.3M donation day, they talk about how New Hampshire lead the amount of donations on a per capita basis. Way to go!!!

Thanks to thousands of freedom loving Americans, the November 5th money bomb has exceeded all expectations. Earlier today, people were forecasting $2 million, then $2.5 million, and as the day progressed, those estimates kept getting higher and higher. Well, by my account, Ron Paul supporters have managed to contribute a total of $4,322,173.31 in 24 hours!!!





The pictures you see are screenshots at 12:00am EST November 5th and 12:00am EST November 6th. (The reason you see 1:00am EST in the first one is because the campaign hadn't adjusted their clock for Daylight Savings Time yet.) The campaign now has more than $7 million and has 25 days to reach their month end goal of $8 million.

What is possibly more significant than the money itself, is the amount of press and attention this whole event has received. Stories are flying off the wire...

According to USA Daily, Ron Paul's book, "A Foreign Policy of Freedom: Peace, Commerce, and Honest Friendship" has skyrocketed from #594 to #294 and made it to #22 on Amazon's Movers and Shakers list. It also has 15 reviews on Amazon, all of which are 5 star reviews. The book was plugged briefly during his recent interview with Jay Leno and now appears on the main page of the Ron Paul 2008 Website.

For those who don't know, his book is a collection of speeches that he has given in Congress over his 20 years of service. It is extremely enlightening in that you get to see for yourself his unwavering consistency and conviction to the same principles he preaches about today: non-intervention, financial stability, and respect for the Constitution.

I picked up my own copy recently, and after reading the first 30 pages, I am more convinced than ever that Ron Paul is the only man who has the courage, wisdom, and foresight to save our country from the downward spiral it is in. Even 25 years ago, he preached about the consequences of interventionism - in lives, in dollars, and in security.

Here are a few quotes I found quite revealing from his speeches in the early 1980's:

October 14, 1981
"So I would say it is time that we looked at the policy in general of whether or not we are to be the supplier of weapons and the protector and the policeman of the world. ... The continuation of a policy of intervention throughout the world will one day, once again, drag America into another unnecessary war."

June 9, 1982
"The 20th Century notion that America has been chosen to police the world and pay all the bills, to make the world "safe for democracy" is no longer viable. Economically, we can no longer afford it, militarily, it is of no value to us. ... The more we scatter our troops and the more dollars we spend, the more likely we are to have war and the worse our economic problems become. ... What will it ever take for us to learn from the lessons of history? ... it is time we let our rich allies take care of themselves, and that the lives of our young people and the dollars of our American taxpayers be used for the preservation of our security."

February 24, 1983
"We have already pumped a billion dollars into the Mideast in the name of peace, yet the powder keg is as hot and dangerous as ever. This policy has been costly beyond words. There are many more dollars hidden in our Pentagon budget over the direct foreign aid expenditures we all know about. But the real threat lies ahead. Continued intervention in the Middle East will only guarantee greater problems for us in the future. It cannot enhance our security. It can only jeopardize peace and weaken our own defenses."

Even back then, he understood that our country and our foreign policy was headed in the wrong direction. It is unfortunate that he often stood alone as the voice of reason. If our other "representatives" had shown this kind of wisdom and foresight, our country would no doubt be more secure and prosperous than it is today.
