Also, Ron Paul was on CNN responding to comments from Pres. Bush regarding Iraq and the War on Terror. The commentator compared Dr Paul to the isolationist of the 1930's, but Dr Paul corrected him to say he was an anti-interventionist. In the 1930's we enacted very strong tariffs to restrict trade with other countries. This spread our depression to other countries and gave rise to militant regimes in Japan and Germany, leading to WWII. Dr Paul advocates the opposite, he promotes free trade. It's free trade that has helped us to maintain peace with China, and pushed them further towards free markets.
