Hell Freezes Over

I'm almost speechless. In the last ten minutes, I've seen Rosie O'Donnell (et al, at The View) and Pat Buchanan come out swinging for Ron Paul.

This was no joint statement, no coordinated effort. It's people from opposite sides of the traditional political spectrum defending and promoting Dr. Paul's statements on 9/11 at the South Carolina debate.

Buchanan:
"What Ron Paul was addressing was the question of what turned the allies we aided into haters of the United States. Was it the fact that they discovered we have freedom of speech or separation of church and state? Do they hate us because of who we are? Or do they hate us because of what we do?... We do not excuse -- but we must understand." MORE

The View:

I'd love to write something profound about this, but my brain has short-circuited. This is what Americans of good political conscience have dreamed of for years; we are actually coming together as a people on principle.

Personal religious convictions aside, there are no other words to express this:
God bless Ron Paul.

It's like the good Dr. Paul said when in N.H. - Liberty brings us together.

This is so amazing to actually feel like a proud American again.

as an aside, I know THE VIEW has a huge audience, but if that's what the show is always like, I can't IMAGINE watching it daily...or even more than five minutes. Excruciating.
